I think the message of this book is to tell you that to not give up on your dream. Be nice to people, and do good things and good things will happen to you also. Another theme I think is if you work hard enough, you can achieve a certain goal.

14. What other character(s) beside the main character is really important to the story? How and why?
A really important character to the book is Joy, which is Dan Millman's girlfriend/wife that he meets towards the middle of the book. Another character that is really important is the mentor that leads Dan Millman to his success in the Jumping world championships.
